About me
My name is Stuart Read and I am a freelance broadcast Foley Mixer and Sound Designer.I have been working in film sound for 8 years, and tutoring for various colleges and private schools for 4 years.
In that time I have worked on several big films and TV productions, including “The Keith Lemon Film”, BBC’s “The Hour”, “New Tricks”, “Silent Witness”, and many many more.
In 2011 I was lucky enough to be part of the audio team that won an RTS (Royal Television Society) award for the sound on the hit Channel 4 series, “Misfits”.
Alongside my sound engineering work, I also regularly compose for advertisements and short films and have recently completed an online advertisement campaign for Warner Leisure.

I am a highly skilled music producer, composer and sound designer.
Classically trained in Violin and Piano as a child, I continued my passion onto university, where I studied music production.
I then followed my second passion and went to work in TV and Film.
Now in my 9th year in broadcast I thoroughly enjoy utilizing my skills in both Sound Design and Music Composition, while working on everything from big budget blockbusters to low budget indie shorts.
My unique style in music composition and production has brought me praise from my clients, and is always instantly recognizable.
