As Told By was founded by University of Bristol graduate, Frankie Wakefield and undergraduate, Katie Pesskin. Their aim is to celebrate bold stories and unique story-tellers and to creatively explore their scripts in the rehearsal room.
As Told By is being supported by Greenwich Theatre’s Artist Development programme.
The company’s first production, Martin Crimp’s The Country, was transferred from The Little Black Box in Bristol to the Pleasance Theatre in London. After a hugely successful run in London, the emerging theatre company returned to Bristol with Macbeth, which was performed at the Bristol Museum and Art Gallery. It was the first ever theatrical performance to take place in the historic building.
The company are also looking towards the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, where they will be producing a transfer of Macbeth and a new production of As You Like It.
