Backpack Theatre aims to tour original, high quality ensemble-based pieces of theatre that integrate music, movement and puppetry. We use an eclectic mix of traditions from across the globe, which encourages political awareness and discussion. We utilise contemporary issues and media coverage to develop current new work that is devised by the company under the leadership of guest directors. We are a multi-cultural ensemble promoting the benefits that our members from all corners of the world offer. We provide a training platform for recent East 15 graduates, encouraging the exploration and creativity required in being part of a professional theatre company.
