European Arts Company is a national and international touring theatre company based at The Hazlitt Arts Centre in Maidstone, Kent.

European Arts Company's first touring production was a double-bill of Harold Pinter's 'The Dumb Waiter' & 'The Lover' on a British Council sponsored tour of Greece in 2002.

Since then, the company has gone from strength to strength, performing all over the UK, Greece and Italy with works by Oscar Wilde, John Buchan, Anton Chekhov and John Osborne. It has developed a reputation for producing quirky classics with great imagination and a highly physical style.

In July 2008 the company was invited to move into The Hazlitt Arts Centre in Maidstone which is now its creative base. The company is about to embark on a No.1 tour of Italy with 'Animal Farm' by George Orwell, our third collaboration with Il Palchetto Stage.

On 31 January 2009, we will open our adaptation of Dickens' 'The Pickwick Papers - The Original Road Trip' at The Hazlitt before embarking on a 9 week tour of England & Wales. This will be a co-production with RCT Arts and supported by Creu Cymru's Inventive Promoter scheme with funds from the Paul Hamlyn Foundation.
