In 2005 our films played at 75 festivals including San Sebastian, Venice, New York and London, and won numerous awards including seven first prizes. This year the school became a 'Skillset Screen Academy', marking it as a centre of training excellence. An LFS film was amongst five shorts nominated for the Best Short BAFTA. The school consistently aims high, and gets there.
We teach through filmmaking, on stages, and in workshops rather than in classrooms -- the building functions like a studio. On the MA Filmmaking you'll work on a minimum of six films, at least two as director, with all costs included in fees. They'll be mostly on film, including two 10 minute 35mm studio/location drama exercises. You'll get over £3,000 back to spend on your graduation film. With just 125 participants, the MA Filmmaking generates over 170 finished films a year. It's an exceptionally busy place.
