Northern Ballet Theatre was founded in 1969 in Manchester and is now based in Leeds where plans are currently under way with Leeds City Council and ACE to construct a new building in 2010 to house NBT and Phoenix Dance Theatre. Northern Ballet Theatre tours Ballet and dance to UK and International venues. The current Artistic Director is David Nixon who joined the company in 2001 and its Chief Executive is Mark Skipper.
