Formed in Cambridge in 2007, Sky Blue theatre was founded by a small team of experienced actors, writers and directors who had been successfully producing new writing in Cambridge since 1996. They bonded together to create high quality original work and adaptations of classics which would attract new audiences to literary masterpieces.
Since 2007 the high standards to which we work have encouraged many artists and organisations to approach us for collaboration and we are pleased that we now have over 50 associated artists with whom we have and continue to collaborate with.
In the last 6 years we have produced sell-out fringe shows, numerous sell out musicals, worked with an array of corporate clients, run workshops for adults, students, schools and colleges, and have performed our shows in small and large scale venues around the country.
In between all of this we have still found time to devise and perform new plays, develop a new playwriting competition and use our talents to fund raise for various charities.
An integral part of all our productions is our guiding principle that the audience are key, we create work with the understanding that the audience are as much a player in the action as any of the onstage actors.
