Run by the RNIB they record "spoken" books - an alternative to the written word for the visually impaired. They have studios in Camden and Peterborough and are the original and therefore oldest of the recorded book cos.
As an arm of the RNIB they have charitable status and employ a panel of actors (and sometimes authors) to read the books. Rates are low but they use many famous names and can afford to be choosy so the prestige is high.
