Thundermaker was set up by a consortium of Industry business backers in June 2013 with the simple remit of creating entertaining, affordable and sustainable entertainment. Within the arts industry at the moment there is a major unemployment crisis with 95% of actors unemployed. We believe therefore that there is a real demand for sustainable theatre, on a sound economic basis, which would continue to produce new work and in doing so, help create more employment opportunities within the industry.
