Working with friends and co-directors Andrew Lampert (of Anthology Film Archives where he was the Curator or Collections) and Owen Kline (independent filmmaker), Henry provided all sound recording for this short film starring the late, great Joe Franklin, an iconic New York vaudeville performer and cable TV talk show host, as the enthusiastic mentor to an abandoned two-year-old child. WFMU | Summer 2010
Audio & Web Intern
My work as a musician brought him to the attention of WFMU DJ Jason Sigal who invited Henry to spend the summer learning about the “longest running freeform radio station in the United States.” Henry did hours of live session editing in Adobe Audition, wrote a handful of blog posts, and performed basic website maintenance.2
HOME BLITZ | August 2008 to present
Band Member, Touring Musician, Session Musician (drums, guitar, electronics)
Home Blitz is critically acclaimed rock band based in Brooklyn. Henry joined at the age of fourteen as the drummer in the touring band. At fifteen he hit the road with Home Blitz for the first time, to perform at the annual South by Southwest music festival, stopping along the way for gigs in Nashville, Memphis and New Orleans. Now a creative contributor in the studio, you can hear Henry’s blistering drums, psychedelic guitar and experimental electronics on the latest Home Blitz LP, Foremost & Fair, released on Richie Records on April 17, 2015.3,4
INDEPENDENT MUSIC | 2004 to present
Composer, Engineer, Producer, Performer (guitar, bass, drums, keyboards, electronics, vocals)
Henry began his career in music at the age of ten, learning drum technique under the guidance of local jazz drumming legend Rick Fiori and prolific rock session drummer Joe D’Angelo. Over the years, Henry contributed to the creation of a rehearsal and recording studio in the basement of his childhood home, a place where he still returns for the purpose of recording and sound experimentation. While in high school, he released three collections of work – Snow Gold, The Portal, and In the Noon & Other Songs - on Cryptic Carousel, a publisher of original work on audio cassette. Selections from The Portal and In the Noon & Other Songs were chosen by WFMU for inclusion in the Free Music Archive, a collection of “high quality legal audio downloads” made available under the auspices of a rights framework inspired by Creative Commons.5,6
INDEPENDENT FILM WORK | 2003 to present
