About me
I am a the Founder and Executive Producer of Alpine Light Media, a full-service Development and Production company for Film, TV and Video. I’ve written/produced and directed videos for a wide range of clients, such as The College Board, Merck, The Juilliard School and the American Alpine Club.As a writer, I’ve served as a script/story consultant for the British production company Them&Us, and have pitched several original projects to outlets such as HBO, Fox TV Studios, A&E and SyFy.
My MFA in Writing and Production is from Long Island University’s TV Writer’s Studio in Brooklyn, and I hold a postgraduate degree in Acting from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (2 Year Course).
I started out as an opera singer at Mason-Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University, also earning a B.A. in History. After college, I auditioned for and was accepted to the Acting program at LAMDA, where I was awarded the Lee Strasberg Scholarship, and trained for two years with directors and writers from the RSC and National Theatre.
Following LAMDA, I acted in the NY theatre and in small film projects and started to work more behind the scenes. I was fortunate enough to direct or assistant-direct several theater productions including “The Last of Mrs. Lincoln,” “Hamlet,” and Neil LaBute’s “Some Girls” (Off-Broadway), where I got to work as acting coach to Fran Drescher.
I also began working as a video editor around this time, and after a couple years of ever-increasing freelance work, I earned a staff position at Yahoo! Studios, where I stayed for five years as the in-house producer and editor for news, financial and branded content. During that time, I enrolled in a part-time MFA at the TV Writers Studio, where I studied screenwriting with Norman Steinberg, a writer of Blazing Saddles and My Favorite Year, and Stephen Molton, a former development executive at Showtime. I am currently working on several TV pilots and other projects.
I am religiously involved with mountains and climbing, I play ice hockey when my knees allow me to, and I love travel, photography, and any combination of the above.
