About me
Producer, Director, Cinematographer, Photographer and Writer (LA Emmy Award Winner 2X)Kris was the filmmaker for PBS production Sight: The Story of Vision (2016) and the associated VR immersion film Seeing: A Photon’s Journey Through Space and Mind. The project had a budget of $1.3M which was funded through underwriting secured mainly by his efforts.
He produced, wrote and directed the civil rights film Assaulted: Civil Rights Under Fire (2013). Duties included securing $250,000 in production funding through crowdsourcing and private investors, writing, directing, cinematography and post-production supervision.
Koenig conceived and managed as Principal Investigator (PI) the $3M National Science Foundation-funded project that produced the PBS Science Special 400 Years of the Telescope (2009). Roles included executive producer, producer, co-writer, director, and photographer.
Kris also produced and managed the creation of several non-broadcast films including Lagrimes di mi Madre dealing with urban street gangs infiltrating rural Butte County, CA, and the negative impacts it has on families and the individuals that join these gangs. The California Superior Court system uses this film for parental education. Additional productions included three shorts on humanitarian projects taking place in Tanzania based out of Chico, CA.
