The start of 2020 I was producing the UK dates of a US feature ($2M budget) and managing the post for 19 internal corporate films (which I'd produced & directed in a virtual studio), totalling 4 1/2 hrs of content. During the lockdown, I've been busy with directing clients over Zoom & similar and editing their video comms.
This year I've been mentored by Mark W Travis in his "Interrogating the Character" directing method which has opened up new opportunities for me and my work.
The majority of the work I’ve been doing falls into the branded content field, like Sunseeker Showboating video for their World Cup sponsorship tie-up, New Ford Focus for Dennis Publishing and Nemorin.
I've come up through the craft side of the business (camera & editing) and then into Producing and Directing. So I have a good feel from those 20 years of how to get the most from the available resources - either cash or time or personalities.
At the start of my career, I did dozens of music videos and a good smattering of feature films - all on film. And I still enjoy those, but now I'm just at home in a greenscreen studio getting a client or presenter wave their hands around in a virtual studio or out on location getting unparalleled access to places others just can't.
