Almost a Turkish Soap Opera is an independent film production of a novel and screenplay of the same name. The film paints a vivid portrayal of the lives and struggles of modern Muslim young adults trying to make a life in the West. The story will attract audiences of popular contemporary movies such as the Kite Runner and the Brick Lane. A published author, Anne-Rae Vasquez, wrote Gathering Dust – a collection of poems, published by AR&B Publishing Inc. and Teach Yourself Great Web Design in a Week, published by Sams.net (a division of Macmillan Publishing). Almost a Turkish Soap Opera is currently in production. Filming begins in May of 2010. The film will be shot mainly in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada on the Red One camera.
