An Echo in the Dark

Dan and James have never met, but their future hinges upon one incident that creates a chain of events that will change their lives forever.

Dan talks to his girlfriend Emma. The girlfriend he split up with a week before. He split up with her because he had got into drugs. He is pleading with her to take him back and is philosophically talking about the way the world is and how he needs a second chance and that she is it. Dan is in such a state because earlier that day while going to pick up drugs with one of his less trusted friends Nathan, they end up in a scuffle that results in Nathan shooting and killing the dealer named Robert. Robert is the brother of James. James is going about his day on his way to meet his brother. James arrives too late, as Dan kneels over the corpse of Robert, James is just discovering the tragedy. He rounds a corner and Dan spots him. Dan runs with James following him. James distraughtly decides that his brother must be avenged as he is confirmed dead and placed in the back of an ambulance. As Emma discovers these truths from Dan himself she realises that this will change him and gives him one more chance, she does this partly because she believes in family and she has just fallen pregnant with Dan’s child. As the couple finally reconcile their past and look forward to their future, James enters their house with a gun and bursts into the room. It ends.
