Zoran Slavic was a section leader in the Bosnian army when his sister went missing in Mostar. He discovered that his brother in law, Anton Franic, was complicit in his sister’s murder. Ten years later and Anton and Dimitri Franic are up and coming gangsters in Birmingham’s Little Moscow while Zoran turns up in the same city as an asylum seeker on a sink inner city estate. He befriends Nazir who works as a stripper in a club. When Nazir becomes the target of racial attacks Zoran is drawn into a vigilante conspiracy by McMurtagh, a gangster pretending to be Zoran’s friend. Zoran is set up to unwittingly murder a police protected witness as part of a gang war. With the cops on his tail, Zoran discovers that McMurtagh has been in league with the Franic brothers all along. Finally, when Nazir is abducted, Zoran has to draw on his own resources in a bloody confrontation with the enemies on a bleak Worcestershire farm.
