Edward’s entire presence seems to be crumbling under the weight of an unknown force. A once charismatic man, he has retreated into solitude. Until he learns about a controversial device known as an Exit Chip. An Exit Chip is a microchip implanted into the back of the head, which allows the recipient to die in secret. The device leaves an imprint of the personality upon the body, while the mind and soul have passed – the body is left to continue on as a shell. The Exit Chip offers Edward a way out, a way that allows him to escape his suffering without leaving his recently widowed mother and his sisters behind.
