Eyana: The Secret Untold

Eyana: The Secret Untold

2017, 25 minutes

We all have stories, we'll never tell. A troubled woman finding out the secret behind her childhood and how it shaped the way she is.

Written and Directed by Alpha Olaniran. 'Eyana: The Secret Untold' is a ‘gripping’ piece that emphasizes the importance of “truthfulness” and it’s value to a family. The lead character Eyana, played by Talitha Lindo ('Dear Jesus', 'Liar', 'Man Down’) is faced with different life challenges all tied to an unknown secret. The short film follows through from childhood, played by Sarah Alayande to teenage hood (Armani Davis) and then finally to adulthood, exposing the different obstacles encountered as she journeys through life. We all have stories, stories that define us and by way of natural cause have structured our individual selves. Gracing the screen is a poetic portrait of an existing social issue, a story from a subjective angle but relatable in an abstract sense. Eyana grows up in her supposed family to the shocking reality that the father figure she’s known from birth was all ‘leading her to the garden path’.
