A man learns to accept the changes in his life

"'Fairuz' is a short film centred around Yussef, a man in his mid 60s who struggles with the recent loss of his wife and the loneliness that comes with growing older. We start the film on the wedding day of his only child, Fairuz, where to his surprise it is revealed that his daughter and her new husband are moving abroad. Shocked and unable to accept this separation, he selfishly flees the wedding. In his desperation, running high on adrenaline, he crashes his car in an isolated farmers field. Michael, the farmer, tries to help Yussef but their mutual sense of pride and stubbornness initially hinders them from connecting. When Yussef is confronted with Michaels Alzheimer's stricken wife, Julia, he is forced to gain some perspective and recognises himself in Michael and his situation. The two men find a common language, and through their meeting Yussef learns to accept the changes in his life."
