A magical realist drama about a young boy who is coerced into car theft by his bullying and abusive father.
When a job goes wrong, Jack flees into an urban woodland. Wracked with shame and anxiety, Jack is also experiencing a change in himself... a rising rage which is manifesting as pyrokinesis, spontaneous heat and fire emitting from his hands. When Jack stumbles upon a forest ranger with a 4x4, he sets his mind on stealing the vehicle. But as he is drawn into the ranger’s world he is given a glimpse into a completely different way of life from that which he knows. Jack is given the opportunity to step up and be a man, using his strength for a positive purpose. This experience changes his attitude to the ranger, his father and his own growing powers, and leads to a dramatic and empowering climax.
