A young girl uses drawings to escape to a world within her mind in which only she and her deceased brother exist.

Happy Place tells the story of a young girl called Katie dealing with and trying to come to terms with the death of her older brother, Laurie. In order to spend time with her deceased brother, Katie draws pictures and uses them to escape into a alternate reality within her mind, in which she re-imagines Laurie using her memories of him. The film follows Katie as she uses her imagination to escape from the less than idealistic reality she has with her parents, and constructs a reality in which only she and her brother exist, but her subconscious mind won't stop trying to bring the dark truth of what happened to Laurie into the forefront of her mind.
