A father tormented by war has a dark secret to hide.

The story of a mother and father (Shelly and Jerome) who travel with their young daughter (Esme) from Paris. They are visiting their daughters aunt (June), uncle (Lucien) and young cousin (Rhys) at their home in Gloucestershire. Lucien has recently returned home from serving time with the military and has been undergoing psychiatric help in order to deal with the hardships he has been through. Whilst the adults attempt to deal with this, the two young cousins Esme and Rhys learn to bond with another. Despite their language differences they gain a mutual understanding of another through various interactions.
