The story is of a young woman, constrained and frustrated by her home life, who is watched by a figure in the darkness of the graveyard outside her home. The increasing threat of the figure is linked to the declining health of the young woman's mother. The story is influenced both by Angela Carter's re-working of Little Red Riding Hood in The Werewolf, and by the Dylan Thomas poem Do Not Go Gentle into That Good Night. The aim of the film is to create a simple story that is steeped in atmosphere and a sense of unease, revealing in the final moments that the real threat stems from the young woman herself.
