Secret love affair between two teenage aspiring footballers

Ben and Anthony have dreams of becoming football players at the top level and are training hard to realise their dreams. They share time together away from training, where they talk about their respective lives and, unbeknown to Anthony, who is from a church-going West Indian family, Ben, who is from a working class white English family, has developed feelings for his friend. Anthony stays away from his ‘friend’ for a while, but then realises that he may share the same feelings for Ben. They reunite but their ‘secret’ is discovered and exposed. Ben's father discovers them together and forbids Ben from returning to his football club and from seeing Anthony. Ben refuses and Anthony's father assaults Ben who is arrested by the police.
