Between the flicker of life and the silence of death lies the beating of hope.
The Story Open is a psychological thriller about a girl, called Ami, whose estranged Mother dies unexpectedly leaving her all alone in the world save for a locked case. She has one vague recollection from childhood that a single word will uncover the hidden key but has long since discounted this as fantasy. The film follows Ami over the course of three days as she travels back to her home town to scatter her Mother's ashes. Once there she finds herself beset with grief and struggling to contain visions dredged up from the dark corners of her mind. As her connection with the case strengthens she becomes increasingly unable to distinguish between the real or imagined and fears that opening the case is her only path to sanity.
