2012, 90 minutes

The untold story of the painful birth of Bangladesh

Shongram, the Bengali word for struggle, is the tale of a British Bengali on his deathbed, reflecting back on his youth, lost love - Asha (meaning hope) a Hindu girl, his home land and the 'bloody' liberation war of Bangladesh. A moving tale focusing on a village that experienced firsthand, the tyranny that the Bengali people felt in 1971, how the experience converts civilians and farmers to fighters.
