John, a writer struggling to complete his screen play creates a fictional alter-ego, Samuel, a hard boiled 1940's detective. John begins to get too involved in his creation, putting elements from his own life into his writing, blurring the realities between reality and fiction. The violent actions within his screen play begin to affect his judgement in the real world.
