The Fiddler Follow up

An allegorical tale inspired by Lucifer’s fall in Isaiah 14 and the fall of man in Genesis 3:21-24. It references the origins of evil in both the spiritual world where a Fiddler exists and the domestic one where Lee lives. I loved the idea of updating a well-known biblical tale whilst elaborating on how the devil actually becomes evil and how its face, whilst dark can also be alluring and unknowingly easy to empathise with. The tale of Eden is brought into a contemporary, urban setting. Lucifer becomes the Fiddler, a creature of legend that is blessed with beauty and musical power but through disobedience and vanity, is cast out of the presence of the gardener. (or God) This tale draws a parallel between the expulsion of Satan from heaven and the expulsion of man from Eden, for when Lee grows up and no longer believes the gardener’s stories, he too expels himself from paradise. So what happens when the evicted collide on the streets of London? A battleground emerges…It’s unashamedly the fight of good vs evil…Faith vs Fear but in this fight the lines of evil can be blurred and we will ask, which side is Lee really on?
