The Golden Chain

An intimate drama about a group of young people who work in a theatre and are staging Chekhov's Three Sisters.

The story follows Masha, the set designer, who has just got engaged to the director, Fergus. She feels more and more that the engagement isn't right. Onstage, Maria Sergeevna is stifled by her marriage to Kuligin and has fallen in love with another. Our heroine watches this story, seeing an unsettling foreshadowing of her own life. She is inspired to speak up and change her fate, but she is constantly drowned out by the chatter and insincerity all around her.
