Pirandello short story

An older woman falls in love with a rich, but blind, young man who is persuaded that, because he is told that she is blond, she must be very beautiful. Although she tries to prevent him regaining his sight she utimately fails and runs away because she knows that he will not love her when he can see her. Following the operation the young man goes looking for her. As she fears he ignores her totally when he sees her waiting for a train because she does not conform to the fantasy of her that he has created in his imagination.
