An aspiring actress invites us to share a glimpse of her life working as an usher in a West End theatre, exposing the wasted talent and questioning what it takes to be an artist.
'Theatreland' takes a thoughtful and darkly humorous look at the lives of a group of actors forced for financial reasons to take jobs as ushers in a West End theatre while they wait for their dreams of becoming professional actors to take wing. An air of claustrophobic, incessant tedium is conflated with the magical, vibrant, transformative setting of the theatre to create a truly unique world. Exposing the wasted talent that exists front of house, 'Theatreland' questions what it takes to be an artist.
