Nigel tastes freedom

A worker drone has gone off the grid. Two grid control workers are under pressure to re-link him and get him back on the grid or, failing that, wipe him clean. Everything he has ever known, his memories, would be wiped clean at the touch of a button. The result is a human vegetable. At least on the grid the drone has the illusion of a real life. Can the control room workers make this difficult decision?
