Kitchen sink drama with a topical twist.
An ambitious child of a single parent faces a future of no prospects. Burdened as a father figure to his younger brother, he is unable to better himself and make his mother proud; he has to inform his mother he has lost his benefit. After an argument with his mother leaves him homeless and close to breaking point, he meets up with his friends and rides into Ealing on the most notorious of evenings.
