I know someone who has an agent that she is not happy with at all. The agent does put her up for stuff etc, but she does seem to get a lot of her own work and contacts. She also seems to assume that when she calls the agent, there is an "I cant be arsed" element to the response she gets. I dont know what to advise in this as she doesnt want to just move agents and also doesnt know how to resolve it.She also does not seem to get many auditions either.
Any thoughts???? We have all been there in some aspect.

I've since spoken with my agent and got things sorted out. I think a lot of it was down to my own insecurity and I really should have been adult enough about it to speak with my agent first instead of sounding off here. I think there were a lot of misunderstandings which should have been resolved now,

I don't mean to sound rude but what do people expect form their agents. Firstly i would tell your friend to stop moaning and ask her what has she been doing to put herself out there. I have an agent i am very happy with and who has lots of industry contacts but i send out between 30-50 letters every week including about 10 showreels and 10 voicereels.
I would tell anyone who isnt happy with there agent to invite themselves to their agents office for a career chat i have done this and it can go 2 ways you
1)you both relaise that there is nothing that can be done for you or
2)you can both change the way you are being marketed.
if one is stil not happy then without sacking the agent start doing an agent mailout carefully slecting about 20-30 good agents. i have done this myself and had a fantastic result. I know it is very hard to fit this around temoping and acting but we need to find the time for it otherwise someone else is right behind us and ready to jump in.
I sometimes question whatis raised on here as i think it i common sense. I am sorry if i offend.
i would be very happy to give anyone any advice if you would like to pm me. i am not saying i am the best out there but i ahve 10 years exp as an actor and i think that counts for something.
