I'm tutoring a `15 year old girl for some auditions and am looking for a few options for monologues. She's 15, RP and needs something feisty, modern but appropriate for a 15 year old.

Any suggestions???
Cheers

Hello Michael!

I can suggest a piece from 'Junk' by Melvin Burgess. Character is called Gemma and she's talking about her 'guide to running away from home'.

PM me and i can send you it.

Hi Michael,

I think there might be something in the vagina monologues for that age group.

Lucy Perkins
Actor

I think the female character in 'Shopping and Fucking' is around that age. Might be a bit full on though, depends what she's going for really.

How about April de Angelis' Playhouse Creatures? Both versions contain great parts and speeches, and it sounds like your 15 year old would be a great Nell Gwynn- a really feisty part!

The most obvious one that springs to mind is 'Diary of Anne Frank'- 13 yr old Jewish girls, lots of great monolgue in that play

There's a new play by Chloe Moss called 'The Way Home' that has some good teenage stuff in it too, with a monologue from a irish girl being particularly good
