Musical instruments

This is probably a novice question, but...

If you're auditioning with a musical instrument and they ask for a piece, will they expect it to be unaccompanied? Or will they expect some sort of backing?

Whenever I have auditioned for actor-musician work I have always played unaccompained as it comes across as less robotic than a click track meaning I can play with much more expression. Also they might not have the equipment to play it, you might not be able to hear it etc

I don't. I learn it from memory if I can.
