Paid recalls
Hi,
Just wondering if anyone knew of any requirement for CD to pay actors for callbacks for auditions? I'd heard it batted about but wasn't sure if it was required or not. Would it be different if the actor was called back more than once?
Thanks!
Hi David. Certainly if you are recalled for a commercial casting, a £50 recall fee is payable (through your Agent, of course). On anything else, I am not sure - it would have to be agreed between you and the CD at the time, I guess.
All the best.
Sue
I've only had a recall fee twice, and both times were for commercials.
You can get to the last round in Musical Theatre auditions and not get anything -even though you prepare much more than for a commercial!!
I had a recall for an EE commercial, through mad dog casting, and a £50 fee is due to be paid for it. I am still waiting for my fee, after 6 weeks. Some agencies probably do this as standard practice.
Does an Agent take commission fee from a callback payment?

Hi Joyce
They are not supposed to, as it covers your time and travel expenses.

Thank you Sue. Good to know. Does that include paid wardrobe fittings and voice over payments for a commercial too Sue?
Do you only get the recall fee if you get the job? What happens if you're not booked, do you still get the recall fee?
Hi Sarah, recall fees are distributed to all those actors who are recalled, regardless of whoever ends up with the job. :)
Hi Sarah, in my experience, for the EE commercial recall I was paid the recall fee but I didn't get the job.
