Rada, lamda, central, e15

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone may be able to help me with sourcing some good audition material? I have potential auditions at RADA, LAMDA, Central and E15 coming up very soon. I wondered if there were any good (recommended) books that I could purchase that incorporate a selection of plays or if there are any good resources online? Or whether there are some great plays you could suggest? I need a selection of Shakespearean, Jacobean and contemporary plays... my requirements for each audition are listed below.

Any help would be most appreciated!

Thank you

Kindest,
Kalee

RADA audition requirements:
Preliminary audition
The Preliminary audition usually consists of two, but sometimes three, audition speeches. Each speech should last about 2 minutes, and certainly no longer than 3 minutes. The panel may stop you if your speech is longer than 3 minutes.
Piece A - Classical The 'classical' piece should be from Shakespeare or an Elizabethan/Jacobean playwright (Jonson, Marlowe, Webster, etc). It should be originally written in English - so do not choose a piece from a Greek tragedy or a Moliere comedy, for example.
Piece B - Modern The modern piece should provide a clear contrast to the classical piece and we would encourage you to choose a piece written after 1960. Do not use Chekhov or Shaw for this piece.
All candidates must have an alternative classical piece prepared (same rules as Piece A), which they may or may not be called upon to perform.

LAMDA audition requirements:
- one monologue from an Elizabethan or Jacobean play; and
- one monologue from a play written in either the 20th or 21st Century, but not a piece written by you or by an unknown or little-known author.
Each piece should last no longer than three minutes and there must be a clear contrast between the two.

CENTRAL audition requirements:
Required to prepare two contrasting speeches of their own choice. One of these must be from an Elizabethan or Jacobean play, the other is an entirely free choice (i.e.; it may be a modern speech, rather than ‘classical’). One or both of these speeches may be required during the audition.

E15
Must perform two contrasting pieces - one from Shakespearean or Jacobean play lasting no more than one and half minutes and one speech from a contemporary play post 1950 speech.

There's a great book called Shakespeare Monologues For Women: The Good Audition Guides. I use it every time I need a classical speech! Haven't as yet found any modern collections that I would swear by and for my modern ones tend to spend a few days in the library creating my own repertoire :)
