I've never done it before.

Congratulations!

The Pleasance Dome is a large venue on Bristo square which is usually a university building with lecture halls/a shop/cafes etc... It's a great venue and the Pleasance is one of the 'big three' companies up there. The Jack Dome is in the Pleasance Dome building. I'm not sure I have been in that particular room but I've been in a few in there and they were lecture halls-turned-theatres.

As for tips for Edinburgh, all I can really say is to not get swept up in the madness of it all, sleep well and try to resist the urge of the late night drinking laws in Scotland!

Hope you have a wonderful time, and maybe I'll see you up there!

I meant 'temptation', not 'urge', obviously. It's a bit early for me. Also, one last bit of advice; bring an umbrella!

Thanks for that, Carrie. Accomodation will be my biggest problem. I may bring up my old campervan and have a camping holiday while I'm there! I'm bringing my little dog with me too. Crazy, I know, but I can't leave him with anyone else for a whole month.
So the Pleasance Jack Dome is rather pleasant, is it? That's nice to know.
I know Scotland well so the weather is not a worry and I'm well used to roughing it.

Not much response to my post about Edinburgh! Maybe it's a bit early yet to ne discussing what's going on in Auld Reekie.

The other discussion about certain sexist remarks is closed so I was given no opportunity to comment on the nasty comments made about me out of the blue.

"Des OFTEN makes comments that are near the mark but then he is a dirty old man" .....(words to that effect)

Why was I dragged in to this or is there another Des on the forum?

Talk about double standards. No sexist remarks allowed but say what you like about older males here.

I am TOTALLY with you on this one Des!

I don't know who the Des was this stupid girl was refering to BUT that IS direct slander!

I've NEVER been so angry about threads in here as I have been with all this nasty inuendo.

Minority opinion IS important but NOT when it's directed in a public way at good individuals with long experience in our business and who do not deserve it!

Small minded people, who MAY have had unfortunate experiences themselves or not, have absolutely no right to push weak psychological bullying theories in the faces of people who are merely being kind and affectionate!
