Job Notificationz
Is it possible to change your notification settings so you only receive emails about the kind of jobs you're in? It's very frustrating getting emails about unsuitable jobs (e.g. teaching, theatre) or that are an unrealistic distance for unpaid work.
I was a member of Mandy in the past and you could filter job notifications by type and distance but I can't find that setting since the big update last year. Thank you!
I keep getting notifications about crew jobs even though i have no interest, but cannot amend my profile
I don’t want to receive emails about unpaid jobs in my email alerts, as I don’t apply for them, but I cannot find a way of filtering them out in my email alert settings. Any help would be much appreciated!! Xxx
@Rachel - I don’t think you can specify type of jobs unfortunately.
@Ioannis - I’ve just checked and I think you can just select No to the Opportunities but yes to Paid jobs in your email notification settings.
&Vanessa - Perfect, thank you so much!
Why aren’t any of my applications for jobs showing the application status once it’s been received by an employer? It’s not just a recent job, but all of my previous applications no longer show this. It used to be shown under your picture within the application, all you see now is the date you apply. I’ve emailed Mandy, and no-one has replied. Why??? Anyone else having this issue?
@Keith I’m having exactly the same issue. Moreover t don’t even see the last view date anymore. I would also like to know what has happened? Xx
"Make the Acting industry Fairer - Don't make Actors Pay to Access Auditions" www.castingcallback.com
I've complained about this time out of mind and always get the same response - they're working on an old platform but they're changing it. It really is beyond c**p! Yes, Robbie, I've joined castingcallback and it's shaping up to be good. And, you don't have to pay. It's early days but I have faith that it'll improve.
This is the reply I’ve received with regards to my question…
“The Mandy platform resides on an aging codebase and is extremely difficult to maintain. We are in the process of migrating our existing codebase so that we can quickly start to implement improvements and product features our users are demanding. In this process, we are temporarily removing some of our legacy features to make space for newer exciting additions to our service, leading to improved privacy for casting directors and employers which should lead to even more applications being viewed and shortlisted behind the scenes. We're looking forward to reintroducing a version of application status within the next few months.”
I know nothing about codebase/codebase or even codebase! Doesn’t instil confidence about all my recent applications as to whether or not an employer has received them.
Hi Keith
I just got a similar email in response to my query as to why the "application status" has disappeared which was available until only recently. What is even more worrying is the sentence: 'An improved version of these tools COULD (my capitals) be relaunched in the future' - only could be introduced? It does not bode well and I've told them it's not acceptable. I also told them thank goodness for Spotlight and Castingcallback. It'll be interesting to see if I get a reply to that.
Hi Toni
Well at least it’s not just me being given the brush off!
I’ve been a part of this casting network since 2005, when it was Casting Call Pro. I’ve had many successful jobs and I’m constantly telling people how I prefer this to Spotlight…(even how it is now!)…but if they don’t get their act together, (see what I did there!)…then I’ll be looking elsewhere. I was fortunate to receive a free lifetime membership back in the beginning, but that doesn’t mean I don’t have a right to have a say in how this is run. Everyone who is on this network has shown support by remaining throughout the Covid years, and we had no work! I’m sure no-one received a discount, I could be wrong? That being said, I’ve always liked the way you can add credits/photos/videos with ease.
To be honest, I think they’re all the same in some way…let’s hope this isn’t the case.
Hi Keith, me too. I was with Shooting People and was contacted by the then CCP when they were just starting and I have free life membership. But, I will complain and campaign and try to get things done properly and fairly for all my fellow actors on here - they and we deserve to be treated with respect and to be answered in full. CCP wasn't always amenable to discussion but the site was so much better for jobs. Give castingcallback a chance. It does look as if it's shaping up to be what CCP was in the beginning but there are no fees. I like Spotlight but because my agent gets work from it and agents see a lot of jobs not available to unrepresented people. I feel very fortunate.
I applied for a job today - first thing, as soon as it was put up. I went to check the application status and it says 'job closed'. I went to look at the original posting by opening Mandy up on another page and it still looks open - no notice to say it's closed. I somehow get the feeling that this is a sort of vendetta or am I being paranoid?
Hi Toni
I would say you’re being paranoid!
Yes I was - I’ve got the job. I’d like to do a smiley face but the don’t seem to register on Mandy. X
Hi Toni
Congrats! This is reassuring to know our applications are being received.
…I guess I need to keep pushing to get a job! lol!
X
Keeping everything crossed for you Keith.
