Monologue-Northern Irish accent
Hi
I am in need of a monologue from a play/film script were the female character has a northern Irish accent ( I know there are many varieties in Northern Ireland, preferably Belfast) I need to show I can do the accent for the role in my audition piece, they seem to be more focused on my capability to do this tricky Nothern Irish accent than the piece itself if that makes sense?
I don't want to focus on a piece that isn't written for a character with this dialect as it is so specific.
Any help/recommendations would be much appreciated!
Hi Iona,
Christina Reid has amazing female parts with most of the plays based in Belfast. There is a compilation of her work out in a small book so you can get to check out a few. Really worth a read anyway. I reckon that is your best starting point.
Cheers,
Ronan
Maggies Monologue from Dancing at Lughnasa. Its set in Donegal.
Thank you so much! That's a great help!
