The Casting from Hell!

I just thought I'd share the worst casting experience I've had to date!

Went for a casting for a commercial yesterday. Arrived at the venue, a large old house, and was ushered up to the 'casting room' or living room of the house. My only company in the room was a one eyed pug dog with chronic wind. 15 minutes later the casting director comes into the room with what looked like her daughter (who did the camera work). The CD then proceeded to shout at the girl to demand what the smell was (hope she realised it was the dog and not me!) She then shouted out the door to a man called Derek (or something similar), saying "open the bloody kitchen window - it smells like somebody has died in this house". We finally get on to the casting and she briefly outlines the project, which was completely different to the one I was up for, and then asks me to do the script (again, different to the one I was sent). I ask if I could have a quick look at the script as this was not what I was given. They gave me 30 seconds and off I went. She then didn't give me any of the feed lines so I ended up having to say both lines(must have looked like a had a duel personality!)When she did read the script she made something up that was completely different. To top it all off....the younger girl kept stopping the recording by accident!

All in all I think I did quite well....there has to be a comedy sketch in there somewhere!!

Would be great to hear other people's casting horror stories...can anyone top the pug dog with wind?

Didn't someone renowned once say: ..."may the wind behind you, never be your own!"

I guess you could always take the pug, stick in a couple of straws and pass him off as a set of bagpipes....

C.D.s come in all shape and sizes ... I think you all have it wrong ... the pug was the CD ... if you ever met Maureen Brickman, you would know what I mean.
She was like a Staffordshire bull terrier .. and just as mean ... but damn good at her job.
