Colour or Black & White??
This is mainly to casting directors but of course includes fellow actors!
Does a colour headshot versus B&W catch your eye more?
At the moment I have a B&W one but doubting if Colour catches more attention...
Thanks guys x
Every casting director I have spoken to about it has said colour is the way forward now for your main headshot. But it's still good to have some black and white ones on your profile.
The days of needing B&W for cheaper headshot printing posters and Newspapers etc are gone, its all jpg and dpi on a screen now even digital colour prining is cheap... ish. The purpose of a headshot is to show what you look like and I've never met a grey person yet.
Yep, just to echo the comments above, black and white headshots are a thing of the past. They were still in use when I left drama school half a decade ago, but they've definitely seemed surplus to requirements in recent years.
Colour headshots stand out more anyway in a huge list of submissions for a job.
Regards,
Lewis.
Thanks Thomasin- its great to know what a casting directors have said.
Nigel, very interesting! Ha! yes you are very right, I myself have not come across a grey person either.
Yes I agree Lewis, they do stand out way more.
I have had a recent hair colour change so would need to get some professional headshots for a more accurate representation of myself.
Thanks everyone!
As an actor and headshot photographer,I'd say colour colour colour (in case of doubt),though there are plenty of grey people out there!
All aliens with a bag full of Max Factor....sounds like a script for a film....we've even got the product placement in early!
Funny you say that Nigel because I have literally just auditioned for the part of an alien today and got the part haha!
But yes will defo be arranging to get some headshots done very soon! in GLORIOUS COLOUR
That's because they thought you were actually grey?
