Actors Centre North today announced they are bowing out and that it's the final curtain.
A sign of the time?
And yes I have to concur it is getting quite quiet out there.
Still,
"never whistle when you're pissing"
...That's a shame.
Did a film in Carlisle a couple of years ago with talented Northern based actors.
This week has been dead for castings but was offered 3 films (shorts) but no pay for 2! (So didn't take 'em)
Got offered the other short for NMW so took that.
Last week got offered a feature in Italy but no daily rate!!Didn't take that either & explained I've been to Italy 15 times (true)& know how much a cup of coffee is to tourists or film crew!...(10 times the norm!)

I remember when there was an actors centre in the real north, Newcastle.
What exactly will occur if you do choose to take the adventurous path, live on the wild side, and attempt to whistle while pissing?
sorry its friday and I have nothing serious to add to the demise of our northern brethren.. but may they rise from the ashes like a phoenix, and emerge, all singing/dancing./..whistling and pissing merrily.
I sometimes wonder, for financial reasons, about moving from the big smoke and possibly returning to my northern homeland. Coming from Lancashire, the proximity to Manchester makes the idea somewhat tempting.
But this is sad news.
