Un-viewed Submissions

I don't know whether anybody else is experiencing this recently but over the last couple of months I have applied for quite a few jobs that, according to VP have not been viewed. This never used to be the case. I'm just wondering if anybody else is experiencing this? It's incredibly frustrating...especially when most of them have asked you to do demo reads. For employers not to even view the application seems to be a little rude.

Hi Ben,

I seem to remember someone mentioning this in the past. They said that employers need to go beyond a first listen for the status to move onto "Viewed".

So they may have listened once, but it remains painfully unmarked in the status column.

Maybe someone from voices pro can clarify, as it is frustrating not to know if those hard recorded custom files have been heard, or simply ignored.

I have just had an exchange of messages with a client for a job that I submitted to a day or so ago, and according to the 'Application Status' in 'My Applications' its 'Status' is un-viewed - Strange quirk of the system!

Furthermore, despite the note on this forum:
"Messages written in the forum do not represent the views of Voices Pro, nor have they been vetted by Voices Pro staff".
I have submitted at least a half a dozen Forum posts or threads that strangely haven't materialised! I'll be surprised if this one does.

Yep I've noticed this trend also:
A quick and dirty bit of analysis reveals these stats.
In the first 5 months of '15 I have applied for 34 Voice Jobs on this site. The records on the site of applied jobs don't go back very far - so for comparison I am only able to look at the preceding 5 months; during that period (Aug-Dec '14) I applied for 43 Jobs. Not too much to be read into that - However of those 43 applications, 33 were at least viewed (77%).
By comparison only 10 (29%) of my applications have been viewed in this 5 month period ....
So is this just a blip?
Could it be that the stats are just not being accurately recorded on the site ?
Or is it in fact a trend - and If that's the case, can it be that employers are posting breakdowns and not bothering to look at applications, as others' experience might suggest?

For all members who didn't find this article yet:

Our stats counter works perfectly and I'd just like to highlight the fact that if a job has not been viewed, this is solely at the discretion of the employer concerned.

Ok, but could I ask if it is true that its only if the employer has looked at the submission twice will it be shown as viewed?
This seems a little odd.

Hello Ruth, this is not true. One look on your account is enough for the submission to be marked as viewed by the Employer.

Some profiles may not be marked as viewed as often as earlier, because employers can now choose how to segregate the submissions. Very often they will set the view to see your picture/demo/cover letter, so there's no need for them to see the full profile if the information provided on the application you've made is enough to make a decision.

Hope this helps. Please call us should you have any further questions
