FLEXIBLE WORK IN LONDON

Sam Rogers
Actor

Hi guys,

Not sure if anyone would be able to help but thought id give it a go anyway.

Does anyone know of any jobs which are hiring such as telesales, sales reps etc basically any flexible jobs that would be good for someone to work in and around auditions in the london area?

I assume everyone knows the stress of having/finding flexible work on the side to acting gigs so was wondering if anyone has any suggestions of where they work or know of anyone hiring for stuff I have previously mentioned?

WOULD BE AMAZING TO HEAR FROM SOME OF YOU!

Thanks,

Sam Rogers

As I've said to other people , there are various companies who employ security teams to do crowd control on film and tv sets . All thats required is you do a short course and you are criminal record checked . Once you have secured a SIA security Industry Authority licence , you can work self employed for anybody you wish . The rates are between £9-11ph , which are normally 12 hour shifts . Its not the most exciting work , or the most rewarding . That said , you get to be around sets for major productions , sometimes meet people who AD on films , and get to see what goes into the often complex film making process . Ive done a few days already this year at various locations in and around london . The £860 squid i picked up helped to pay a few bills , and allowed me to keep casting for projects i really want to do , rather than just the ones i have to do .

Hi Sam,
Try tour guiding mate. Usually you can pick your hours and work solid weekends. Try doing walking tours instead of big bus stuff though. You’d make a lot more tips, can be good fun too.

There are hospitality companies such as Off to Work that offer flexable work.
And I know a few distribution companies such as Mash, Impact distribution, and London Calling that have flexable work.

Hope that helps Sam

Hi all, my mum runs a market research company and often needs actors and lots of people to take part in paid focus groups. It’s cash in hand and not necessarily regular, but always well paid- usually about £60-£80 for a 90 min discussion. Email me if interested and I’ll send you a link to her database
