Hey people, I need your feedback. I am thinking of applying to work at RSVP Call Centre but need to know what it is like. Getting a lot of mixed reviews and would appreciate to know what you think and if you've experienced it, before I go for it. Cheers

I currently work there. You more or less choose your hours every week. You get your basic wage plus any commission (if you are put on a sales account - which most are. If you have an audition or casting you can leave there and then to go to it, as long as you have the email proof that you've been invited to audition. So it is a versatile job (timewise) for an actor

If you have a search you'll see that there are as many 'mixed reviews' here as as anywhere else!

I work there now as well and yes it does have good flexibility and lovely people working there however the job itself is very tedious and there's this attitude of 'no one wants to be here'. Its a good go to job when your in between things I believe but to work 32 hours in a call centre every week can be soul destroying. Hope that helps with your decision!

One of the most flexible jobs you'll get as an actor. They have various "accounts"/departments, some of which are sales accounts (wines, subscriptions, etc) whilst some are customer service accounts.

Give it a try, it's not for everyone, but many actors find it useful enough to come and go over many years.

Regards,
Lewis.

I've been there for the past month, but packed it in yesterday as I just couldn't take anymore...it has it's advantages in terms of flexibility and weekly pay, but it is a pretty depressing job...worth a crack, it does suit some people

This has come up a few times on the CCP forum. I currently work at RSVP and have done intermittently for the last 2 years. It works really well for myself but it isn't for everyone. You have to bare in mind it isn't a career, it can become very monotonous from time to time but I use it for what it is. It's an incredibly flexible job, for example I have to leave early today for an audition and have just let them know. The place is full of wonderful, creative people who keep you uplifted. I would recommend it to anyone! But always remember you can leave at anytime if you find it doesn't work for you. You might as well give it a try!

Hi. I work there too!

Yes, it is monotonous (I bring a sketch book and draw all day to keep me sane) yes, it can be depressing...but I would reccommend it to any actor. The staff are all really nice and supportive and you don't have to pretend that you're passionate about something you really couldn't give two hoots about. It is so, so flexible and I wouldn't have gotten the jobs I've had this year if it weren't for last minute availability.

Give it a try -if it's not for you then you can just leave.
