Sweetshop Revolution is seeking two professional contemporary dancers or actors (male or female) for new, full-length dance theatre production exploring the ways we choose to live and die. ‘I’m not Dead, I’m only Sleeping’ is a provocative new work is about love, devotion, loss, memory and resolution.We're looking for dance / theatre artists who can be honest and emotionally available during the process and onstage. Since we develop the work from improvisation and the artist's own life experience, we are looking for people who have experience of death or loss they can draw on. And aged from around 28 - 78.We’re also looking for people from diverse dance technique backgrounds, with strong contemporary dance and good contact work; or actors who can move. An ability to sound authentic with text is helpful. We're interested in more experienced dancers from their late twenties to seventies.And keen to hear from people who identify as having full or partial African Diaspora, East/South East Asian and South Asian and Latin American heritage.
