Studio Development Singer For New Latin Dance Musical ‘La Vida Loca’I am writing ‘La Vida Loca’ in association with a Recording Studio in Braintree and a Dance School in ‘Ipswich’.  The idea is to write new songs for dance covering all of the Latin dance genres including Ballroom, Exercise (Zumba) and Pop:- Salsa, Samba, Rumba, Cha-Cha-Cha, Jive, Flamenco / Paso Doble, Cumbia, Reggaeton, Meregue etc. The story takes place on a cruise liner to South America to discover the history of the continent, and its conquest by the Spanish and Portuguese, which resulted in the mixing of European and the African slaves the Iberians imported to work the Sugar plantations. The various songs and dance routines tell the romantic and emotional lives of the entertainment crew, passengers and crew on board the cruise liner.We follow the romance of ‘Musician’ Jake and ‘Latin Dancer’ Isabella who meet when Jake joins Isabella’s Zumba class at his local gym.  Isabella has re-invented herself and has come to Ipswich to try and escape her past in the South American drug trade, but Jake persuades her (against her better judgement) to join up with him as entertainment staff on the cruise liner to South America.  Isabella is forced to reveal her true identity to save her best friend from the clutches of her old drug boss !The development route for the Musical will by means of dance-music-videos for some of the songs from the show together with a Novel from which the Musical and the dance-music-videos are seen to have been derived.  The development of the musical will also be filmed for a Documentary about the development process of new musicals, an idea which has considerable support within the industry. Ultimately it is hoped to produce the complete musical on the stage and/or film.We have written over half the required songs and are revising these as we work out the dance routines that will go with them. We are also writing around half-a-dozen new songs to fill the remaining gaps in the plot.  For this work we need a female Development Vocalist to work on the Demo recordings. A high level of musicality is therefore required. Ideally the vocalist could be cast for the music videos as well, so probably the triple threat training of a musical theatre actress would be ideal.  Some knowledge of the Spanish and/or Portuguese languages would be fantastic.This will be my fourth musical.  My previous musicals were ‘Auditions’ (2015), ‘Guardian Angels’ (2016),  and ‘Jane Austen’s ‘Sanditon’ (200 Years Later)’ (2019)  Other notable works include ‘Holiday In Harwich’, ‘Felixstowe’ and ‘Song For Jane Austten’  which can be found on YouTube.Chris Brindle
