  • Project Details
We're an award-winning production company with a long history of producing effective and compelling films for the NHS - and others. We've been asked to produce a film aimed at children to help ease concerns they may have if their mother goes back into the hospital after giving birth to a sibling.More information on the film will be given in online Zoom meetings with shortlisted actors. We're looking for a mother and a child (boy or girl) to act in this.We run Covid safe productions and as such we're after a mother and child who are in a bubble - ideally an actual mother and child acting pair.Although the filming is set across one day, the child actor will only be needed on Saturday 20th March. The parent will be needed on both. The child will mainly be our presenter, with a few additional interaction scenes with the mother.Travel is on top of pay, lunch provided (and snacks/drinks) whilst on set.Ou professional film crew will be limited to two (for C19 reasons) and DBS checked. Maybe one runner - TBC. All others involved will be NHS staff. The pathway to getting the role is this:Casting on Mandy is open until Wednesday 10th March. We'll arrange an online meeting and audition for Friday 12th (after school if applicable) with a potential 2nd day if needed. In that meeting, on top of presenting an audition for the child actor, we will discuss the project in detail with the parent(s) / guardian of the child. Then there will be a final meeting to confirm success in the role and to answer any questions before you accept. What is needed for the application? For the child:Showreel and...Audition piece - acting as a presenter, can the child actor please do an introduction to themselves and something they love (toy, hobby, pet etc). We don't need/want to see the item in action so don't worry about anything over the top! Just the child standing before camera, head to toe, and giving a confident presentation.30seconds minimum, one minute tops. For the mother:Showreel and acting resume.Audition piece - short conversation with the above child actor. You can be talking about anything you want, but we want to see the start and end of the conversation. 45-60seconds approx. Any additional photos/resume a bonus - but key is the audition piece.
